The retreat will be conducted primarily in English.

The local community in Matsu primarily speaks Mandarin and Taiwanese. Interpretation support will be provided during local interactions. Smiles and friendly body language are the best! 😊

Island travel is weather-dependent.

  • Participants are responsible for arriving in Keelung before the scheduled departure
  • If extreme weather prevents travel to Matsu, the retreat will be relocated to an alternative location on Taiwan’s main island
  • If return flights from Matsu are canceled, the group will return to Keelung by ferry on the final day

Please inform the travel agency in advance if you require vegetarian meals or have seafood allergies.

Important: Gluten-free meals are not available on the islands.

No. LEAD does not issue letters of invitation, sponsorship, or visa support documents.

Participants who are registered for the Rotary International Convention may be able to obtain standard visa-related documentation through their convention registration. Arrival prior to the convention, including participation in programs such as the LEAD Global Retreat, is subject to visa conditions and the sole discretion of the relevant embassy or consulate.

The LEAD Global Retreat program is developed and curated by LEAD Fellowship. All travel arrangements, accommodations, bookings, payments, and on-site logistical services are provided and administered by an independent third-party travel agency. Participants contract directly with the travel agency for these services, which are subject to the agency’s terms and conditions. LEAD is not acting as a travel agent or tour operator.
